Yoda One for Me Galentine’s Brunch

Yoda One for Me Galentine’s Brunch

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

The Force was strong with us during our second-ever brunch meetup!
Our newly-established GGB: Suffolk County chapter visited Oakdale Brew House in Sayville, NY for our “Yoda One For Me,” a Star Wars themed Galentine’s Day Brunch, and it was out of this world!

The Grub

There were options for our group’s varying tastes & dietary needs, and the mimosas were affordable & plenty, although many of our Brunchettes also opted for non-alcoholic options like soda, tea and coffee.

Our customized menu for the Galentine’s Day Brunch! Normally their brunch menu is normally less geekily formatted.

More fun than going to Tosche station to pick up power converters

We had a bunch of themed activities including Star Wars Mad Libs and a “Name that Droid!” picture quiz, made by Chapter Officer Maryann. (We’re glad to share our resources with other GGB chapters; Just ask). As always, the main entertainment was being able to passionately network & talk nerdy with our fellow Brunchettes about all topics, including those beyond Star Wars. (Who knew so many of us had FEELINGS about The Good Place finale?)

I always knew there was more to you than [prizes]

Raffle time came and oh, did we have lovely, unique prizes!
The pillows were crafted by our chapter Officer Jessie, owner of Weddings and Whatsits Etsy shop that express the truest Bromance of the entire Star Wars saga.

We all tried to pronounce the line on the second pillow. Well did, or did not. There is no try.

We also raffled off some more Star Wars swag, including a Death Star notebook and a heart shaped Darth Vader enamel pin.

A Galentine’s day wouldn’t be complete without some custom deluxe chocolates made by Chapter officer Maryann, which were molded into classic Star Wars characters like R2D2, Darth Vader, the Millenium Falcon and Han frozen in carbonite. The largest were a raffle prize while smaller ones were packed in the giveaways. (I’d rather be frozen in chocolate than carbonite!) Lastly, we raffled off a gift certificate to Paper Doll Curiosity Shoppe.

Prize and Giveaway table

Before heading out, everyone took home a gift giveaway that included mini Star Wars chocolates, Nerds candy, stickers, and the piece de resistance, a customized Star Wars pint glass that featured an inspirational, feminist message from our Space Mom, Princess Leia, also lovingly crafted by Chapter officer Jessie at Weddings and Whatsits

Thank you to our sponsors for the donated giveaways and raffle prizes!

To me, she will always be royalty.

We can’t wait for the sequel!

A very successful second brunch! May The Force be with you all. Looking forward to the next brunch, which we are very excited for as it will be Harry Potter themed!
We are ready to Accio Mimosas!

Our save the date for our Harry Potter themed brunch.
