International Sailor Moon Day – GGB Austin
International Sailor Moon day! Here in Austin we love three things: tacos, margaritas, and Sailor Moon. So, what better theme for our August brunch than Sailor Moon? Especially since Aug. 6th was International Sailor Moon day! We all headed to the new brunch spot in town, Snooze, to get our brunch on.
We had some new faces this month, and a few returning members. Everyone had a great time talking about what TV shows we’ve been bingeing on ( Stranger Things, Penny Dreadful, Mr.Robot). And watching the Summer Olympics of course!
We all enjoyed the wonderful food at Snooze, which is a brunch only restaurant by the way, how cool is that?! We talked as we ate about, fashion (Modcloth had a pop up shop here in Austin), movies (not many fans of Suicide Squad), and Sailor Moon of course! We all agreed that Sailor Moon was an important cartoon for girls growing up in the 90’s and how there doesn’t seem to be anything like it now.
The brunchettes also walked away with a Sailor Moon comic! Thanks to GGB officer Sandra for donating these vintage comics for the ladies to add to their stash. POOSH Designs also donated coupon codes and stickers for the ladies to enjoy. Thank you POOSH!
After brunch we all headed to The Highball to enjoy the International Sailor Moon party hosted by POMEmag! Hundreds of Sailor Moon fans mingled together to celebrate the one of a kind anime. Vendors were selling homemade jewelry, makeup, and art. There was a costume contest and a photo booth to enjoy as well. Check out the gallery below of all the fun costumes!
Thanks to all the brunchettes who came out and celebrated International Sailor Moon day! The brunch for September is still TBA. Keep an eye on our FB page for details.
