Friends in the Time of Quarantine
It was the best of times, and it was the most virtual of times with GeekGirlBrunchRDU. For the month of May, we had two virtual socials: A Virtual Story Hour on Dark Elves & Magic with Author Rowan Canterbury and a JackBox party.
In the Virtual Story Hour with Author Rowan Canterbury, on Saturday, May 9th at 2 PM she read a portion of her novel The Three Faces of Zembeth (Part 1 of the trilogy), answered questions, and imparted knowledge related to publishing, writer’s block, and perseverance.
What comes before part B? A PART-AY!!!! On Saturday, May 17th at 12pm, we experienced the magic of a Jackbox Zoom Party. There were shenanigans, laughter, drawing, murder and trivia involved! We had the entire party pack to choose from and we made a ruckus.

Despite the “reopening,” we are still holding off on IRL events until June. With the exception of The Cluedup Scavenger Hunter, a full refund may be requested in the event you are not able/interested in attending on the newly scheduled date. Here are the details:
Anime Brunch & Sushi Making Class June 7th, 11:30 am. Still tentatively scheduled for this date and time. (Full)
Bungee Swing Class 1 & 2 – Combined and Rescheduled for June 20th, 12 pm, and 1 pm. (Slots Open)
Wonder Woman 1984 Brunch & Screening. The new release date for the film is August 13th or 14th. Alamo Drafthouse is closed until further notice. Details still pending.
Burlesques Workshop & Brunch – Tentatively Scheduled Summer 2020 (8-15 Slots Open, $15 per person)
Star Wars Brunch – Date, and time still pending for late June or early July.
Cluedup Witchcraft & Wizardry Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt – Rescheduled for November 7th, 2020, at 10 am. No refunds per the event organizers.
GGB at OakCity ComiCon – February 27-28th, 2021 from 10 am – 6pm
