GGB Suffolk Chapter’s Inaugural Brunch: Rep your Fandom
Geek Girl Brunch Suffolk County just had their very first event at Wild Side Bistro in Sayville, NY. Fifteen brunchettes got together to bond over mimosas, custom made temporary tattoos, french toast, and their common geekiness. We had brunchettes repping their love of Firefly, Sailor moon, Jessica Jones, Marvel, Anime, Star Wars, Super Mario, Borderlands and more.
The scrumptious food
Brunch was three delectable courses with a variety of appetizers including smoked salmon over a potato pancake with creme fraiche, breakfast and lunch entrees such as Wild Side Benedict and lobster mac and cheese, and a selection of sweet desserts like forbidden rice pudding.
The geek girl bonding
As the unlimited mimosas, bellinis, and screwdrivers flowed, so did the conversations. Our icebreakers were barely needed, but did bring up some very emphatic praise of Luigi as the more desirable Mario brother. (It’s the eyes. The evil, death glare eyes.)
The raffle and swag bags
After dessert came time for the prizes. Every brunchette went home with a swag bag containing a Mochibi, Marvel badge buddy, and pin courtesy of Infinifan. One lucky raffle winner got a collection of some of the most popular Mochibi. Additional raffle prizes were an Ulta gift bag, a gift card to Paper Doll Curiosity Shoppe, and a gift card to East End Gaming (both locally owned and operated shops).

The evening ended with a group photo, and a save the date for the next event. Geek Girl Brunch Suffolk is starting strong in 2020.
