GGB Philly – Harry Potter OWLs

The brunchettes of Philadelphia celebrated Harry Potter in September and took their OWLs at Iron Hill Brewery in Chestnut Hill. Chestnut Hill hosts a Witches and Wizards weekend every year in the fall, and it feels like a small urban village that has magic hidden in every corner.

Our highest attendance for brunch is always our Harry Potter theme, and this year was no exception. Officers adorned the tables with Hogwarts and house decor, stickers, and temporary tattoos for brunchettes to enjoy. Brunchettes could also use photo props to capture fun and funny memories.

Each brunchette took home their own metal wand keychain, and received a raffle ticket for a chance to win some awesome HP prizes. Books, action figures, a piggy bank, journals, and a quill were just a few of the great goodies that brunchettes could win as a raffle prize.

Conversation drifted to various members trips to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida, and what their favorite experiences are there. Officer Samantha goes at least twice a year, and gave tips to Brunchette Michelle, who is looking to take a trip soon.

Owls

Take your OWLs. Test your aptitude for all things magic with the quiz our brunchettes completed during brunch. Can you beat our top Brunchette? Vicki took home the prize (literally) with a near perfect score of 55 out of 58 possible points. Questions ranged through all of the subjects that Harry and friends took during their years at Hogwarts. Even Hermione would’ve had a hard time getting an O on this test.

Supernatural/Paranormal is the theme for our brunch in October. If you are not yet a member of Geek Girl Brunch Philadelphia, please fill out our join form! We are always looking for new members and would love to see you soon at brunch!
