GGB Sacramento Hosts First Annual BrunchCon

GGB Sacramento Hosts First Annual BrunchCon

With Wizard World making its third return to Sacramento, Geek Girl Brunch Sacramento hosted a convention themed brunch, the first annual BrunchCon. Prior to the scheduled brunch, Sacramento Chapter brunchettes were encouraged to come in cosplay and to bring any swag they were willing to part with. After all, conventions and swag go hand in hand and what collects dust in your house may be well loved in someone elses!

Our brunchettes are so generous. We had t-shirts, and Funko Pops, and buttons, and books, and bags, and more. Every brunchette was allowed to choose their one favorite item before we opened up the taking. There was so much swag, the chapter officers took quite a bit home that they’ll use for future events.

Bottomless mimosas at Goldfield Trading PostBesides the swag, there was of course brunch! Goldfield Trading Post in downtown Sacramento was kind enough to host BrunchCon and treated the Sacramento brunchettes very kindly. We had personal service and more than enough space to accommodate us. And we were served delicious food! Bacon Maple Pancakes and Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuits were just some of the delicious options. Goldfield also has a bottomless mimosa option which was definitely taken advantage of! There were also cupcakes, not courtesy of Goldfield but courtesy of Sacramento chapter officer Jami to celebrate her co-officer’s birthday. The cupcakes (and special Batman napkins to go with them) were delicious. Sacramento Geek Girl Brunches certainly know how to celebrate in style.

How great do our girls look? I think Sacramento may need to have an Orphan Black brunch sometime in the future. How about that Helena and Sarah?

Overall, it was yet another fantastic brunch with some truly fantastic women! We can’t wait for the next one. It will certainly be shiny.
