GGB DFW April 2016 Star Trek Brunch

GGB DFW April 2016 Star Trek Brunch

The DFW area brunchettes boldly went where no man has gone before this month during our Star Trek brunch at The 35th, a private dining room in the Reata in downtown Fort Worth. Resistance was futile when it came to the decadent menu and, of course, the mimosas! Our brunchettes had amazing costumes this week, with Starfleet insignias and uniforms aplenty. We even had several red shirts who beat the odds to make it out alive! Brunchette Skyler brought a Polaroid camera to help us capture the memories, so we got some awesome retro-looking images.

We had some truly spectacular raffle items this month! Some pre-brunch Facebook polling identified The Next Generation as the Star Trek of choice for most brunchettes, so the raffle items included two signed pictures of Patrick Stewart donated by our lovely officers: one from his acting days and another in his Starfleet uniform.

Not one but two signed pictures of Patrick Stewart brooding.

Also included in the raffle was an original piece of artwork donated by jKaye Creations. A messenger bag in Sciences blue, donated by brunchette Jenn, proved to be a popular raffle item. There were also STAR TREK: NEXT GENERATION Pops! by Funko for Worf, Deanna Troi, Data, and Will Riker, donated by our officers. Finally, the raffle included a Star Trek Captain Pin and Star Trek Friendship necklace donated by brunchette Skylar, and a set of Star Trek Pez dispensers donated by GGB officer Providence.

Our next brunch will be a cosplay brunch on Sunday, May 15! We are being hosted by Dallas Makerspace, with catering from Panera Bread. There will be a cosplay contest (and maybe a surprise judge or two!), as well as a few raffle prizes. Feel free to dress up and go all out, but also please note that you do not have to cosplay to come to brunch!
