GGB Orlando’s Debut Brunch

GGB Orlando’s Debut Brunch

Hello Fellow Brunch Enthusiasts,

Last month GGB Orlando had its launch, and as one of the Officers here, I’m as pleased as a peach to tell you we had a Marvel-ous time. (puns intended always)

Geek Girl Brunch Orlando

Walking up to the restaurant, I felt like thousands of Butterfrees escaped their Pokeballs and were doing back flips in my stomach. This was a day I had been waiting for ever since I first got wind of Geek Girl Brunch.  What if no one shows up? I worried. But all of those fears melted away the minute I saw our first brunchette to arrive, Irene and her warm smiling face.

The conversation kicked off by sharing our mutual love for Peggy Carter and one by one, more and more wonderful ladies began to flock to the table, dressed in fantastic cosplays, novelty shirts and wonderment.20150718_130153

Orlando isn’t all tourist traps and theme parks, (though, who doesn’t love a day at the Wizarding World) There’s a real unique feeling here, tons of little places to grab delicious food, and honestly, this gathering proved we’re home to some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet.  We were grateful to Dexter’s of Thornton Park for the atmosphere, mimosas and noms. You know you’ve had a good time, when you start sorting through photos, and realize you spent so much time getting to know the people around you, you totally forgot to snap a picture of your quiche. You’ll just have to take my word for it, everything looked amazing!

Officer Jessica used her seamstress skills to craft everyone these adorable little pouches for each of us to take home. Awesome right?! Also pictured are the handmade geeky conversation starter cards that I had scattered around the table. (credits for the questions go to our GGB Sisters in Denver)

After brunch we posed in front of the Thornton Park Fountain, and bid our new friends farewell, feeling happy knowing that’d we’d see each other for another geek girl brunch in just a few weeks.

Excelsior,

Officer Paige

P.S There’s still time to get a spot on our nearly-sold out August 29th Brunch. The theme is video games, and I’ve already started planning my Princess Peach outfit. Be sure to use the sign up form here on geekgirlbrunch.com, and we hope to see you there!
