GGB Atlanta – Magical Girls Brunch
A Magical Brunch
The theme for Atlanta’s third brunch was a members choice “Magical Girls” this genre of anime and Manga hold a special place in many girls hearts in form of Sailor Moon, Card Cardcaptor Sakura and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Makan served as GGB ATL’s June brunch spot. Makan offers Chinese, Korean and Western fusion cuisine. Dim Sum Brunch sounded liked the perfect place for some magical girls to meet . A few highlights from the menu include: Fried Shrimp Balls, Tofu and Veggie Bun, Bacon Kimchi Fried Rice (OMG YUM), Spicy Ramen and Five Spice Bloody Marries (totally will make you feel like Magic).
Need a gift that’s out of this world? Cosmi Query creates necklaces, earrings, and other fun accessories using public domain photos so that you can wear the universe.
Geek girl Kiki Jenkins provided beautiful prints and buttons for the brunch. You can probably find her in the artist alley of a con near you. Kiki also write the webcomic Idolon.
One of Atlanta’s own brunchette’s Lesa, provided Sailor Moon inspired bags & bows. She mostly sells baby gift sets & blankets on her etsy shop, The Crafty Kraken. She also offers custom work and is expanding the items she offers (including some geeky items!) Check her out on facebook.
Our next event is a Marvel Movie Meet-Up on July 18th. We’ll be meeting at gaming bar Battle & Brew then walking over to the nearby Lafont Theatre to watch Ant Man. RSVP on our facebook event (it’s open to members and non-members!)
