GGB Raleigh Durham– Anime Brunch and Sushi Making

GGB Raleigh Durham– Anime Brunch and Sushi Making

Anime Brunch and Sushi Making Class

As restaurants reopened, GGB Raleigh-Durham tiptoed into in-person brunches. With masks and social distancing, 5 Brunchettes participated in a low key Anime themed brunch and sushi-making class. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves and personal sushi-making lessons from a top sushi chef. Several Brunchettes dressed in Anime inspired clothing, masks, and nail art.

Jackbox Games and Trivia with Triangle Game Night

Later in the month, Geek Girl Brunch RDU joined forces with Geek Fit Network and Triangle Game Night for virtual trivia and games. Hilarity ensured as three great organizations maneuvered Jackbox games. We played Fibbage, Trivia Murder Mystery Party, Quiplash, and many others! While everyone was a winner, two special members received a gift card to Geek Fit’s website, a Geek Girl Brunch water bottle, and geeky from Gamer Goodies 4 U!

Virtual Brunch

With the exception of sushi making, Summer 2020 consisted of virtual events including Geek Girl Trivia, Netflix Watch Parties, and a special Q&A with Geek Therapist, Ariel Landrum.

Becoming

Despite having an almost completely virtual summer we managed to connect each month. In August a few Brunchettes gathered virtually to view Becoming, the memoir of former first lady Michelle Obama. During these difficult times, Brunchettes found it uplifting to watch the inspiring story of an amazingly strong woman. Our upcoming events include a virtual murder mystery and socially distanced pumpkin carving.
