Geek Girl Brunch Houston’s Summer Event Round Up

The summer of 2019 proved an active one for the Houston chapter of Geek Girl Brunch. This round up will provide a summary of the events hosted over the last three months.

On June 20, 2019, the women of Geek Girl Brunch met up at Tea and Victory for a gaming brunch. Those who attended reported that the venue filled up quickly and some had difficulty finding the group, since we had lower turnout than originally expected. That said, the brunchettes who went said they had a good time.

On August 6, 2019, a last minute invite from our friends at Edward’s to go see The Kitchen translated itself into another event. Based on the comic by DC Vertigo, the film delighted fans and the uninitiated alike.

On August 9, 2019, a Geek Girl Brunch After Dark event took place at The Goose’s Acre Brewery. The laid back hang out session had no particular theme, but allowed for those who made it to discuss their favorite geeky topics and meet other gals with similar interests.

On August 24, 2019, Craft & Sip took place at Wonderland Cafe. The event invited brunchettes who had unfinished craft projects to bring them and have a chat over crafting and tea/coffee. This event had some of the highest attendance numbers since we’ve relaunched which of course means that it was a huge hit!

We forgot to take pictures at the first three events, but please peruse the photos from Craft & Sip. We look forward to more events coming in the future!
