Coffee and Nerdy Sweaters w/ GGB StL Metro? Yes Please!
Casual December Meetup
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, the geeky ladies of GGB StL Metro took a break from their busy lives! We threw on nerdy holiday sweaters and met at our favorite local coffee shop, Balance Coffee and Tea, for some coffee, girl time, and cocktails!
Balance Coffee and Tea is a local favorite coffee shop that roasts their own beans in house, does coffee and tea infused cocktails, and has some pretty tasty pastries and small food items. It’s located in Belleville, IL and its home is the “Green Diamond” central railroad depot. It’s adorable, laid back, and full of amazing food and drinks!
There was a make your own Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar that was simply to die for, Lotsa Matcha Martinis, Sangria, Chocolate Martinis, and Espresso infused Old Fashions for those imbibing in cocktails. For those who simply wanted coffee and tea, they offer and expansive list and nothing is overly sweet! Some of the snacks that were available were cherry and apple turnovers, muffins, powerballs, bagels, chocolate zucchini bread, veggie snack boxes, and soup and sandwiches. It’s no wonder this place is a local favorite.
Taking a Break from the Holidays
The holiday season is always busy and chaotic, so for our December brunch we always keep it a simple l meetup with no strings attached. It’s all made fun by nerdy sweaters and talk of all the geeky gifts that were purchased! This brunch was simply a time to escape for a couple of hours and spend some time with our favorite ladies. One of our amazing brunchettes, Wendy, donated some handcrafted soup bowl cozies in Star Wars, Harry Potter, and A Christmas Story prints, that were ALL to die for, along with some super cute little pot holders that matched. Each of our brunchettes in attendance got to choose one to take home with them, and I can say that I use mine ALL THE TIME!
January’s brunch will be the 3rd Friday of the month and will be hosted in StL. Be on the lookout for our 1st clue! Hope you ladies are excited!
