GGB Baltimore’s Literary Leanings Brunch!

On January 12, 2016, GGB Baltimore gathered together at the B & O American Brasserie in Downtown Baltimore to answer one simple question: “What are you reading?”. Why? Because what other way to celebrate the 207th birthday of Edgar Allan Poe, the author of such literary works such as the poem The Raven the story The Fall of the House of Usher, who made Baltimore his home. ggbbmorelit1

Between sips of coffee and bites of food, the brunchettes discussed all types of literary works and what makes them work so well. They are reading everything from the second (or twenty-second) re-reading of the Harry Potter series, to anticipating the next trade release of Bitch Planet.  We discussed all different types books, comics, manga series, and how movie adaptations may never really live up to the hype that the books gear us up for; however, one thing that was agreed upon was that all good literature must be appealing but also have that thing that makes them special.

ggbbmorelit2So read something that interest you or create a story in your voice. Who knows, you may have people reading and discussing your stories someday.

Until next time…
