Gainesville Special Events of 2025

Amazing things happened in our chapter at the end of 2025!
Costume Party, Friendsgiving, Craft Swap, Book Club Bingo, & Helping our Community
Costume Party!
Every October we have a costume party themed brunch, our 2025 October brunch was our largest costume party to date!

Friendsgiving!
Our November brunch was just as exciting as we tried a new idea for our chapter and had a Friendsgiving Potluck Brunch and our theme was Alternate Timeline. One of our members opened their home to us so we could have a place to share our food with each other. Since the brunch was in someoneโs home it was also our first brunch where we had some cuddly pets present!

Craft/Book/Closet Swap!
Our group takes a break in December from the typical planned events, with the exception of our special Craft Swap day!
Once a month we have a “crafternoon”, where our members are invited to join us for an afternoon of crafting. Everyone brings their own craft they want to work on while conversing and building friendships.
In 2024 we had our first Craft Swap during December, where our members brought in craft items and supplies they no longer needed and were able to โshopโ what others brought.
In 2025 we added a Book and Closet swap to that event and even added a fun game of Book Bingo which was based off of books we read in book club that year.
It was an HUGE success! Left over books were donated to the library, the clothes were donated to our local Humane Society thrift store, and the craft items were donated to a local non-profit called the Repurpose Project.

Christmas Angel Tree!
In December something really special happened for our chapter. When one of our members had mentioned that she was fulfilling Angel Tree tags for children in our community to have items to open for Christmas. This snowballed into other members wanting to help, either by donating unopened toys they had laying around or donating money to fulfill even more Angel Tree tags. Our group ended up helping fulfill a total of 11 Angel Tree tags. This effort also led to us planning to continue this in future years and has us thinking of even more opportunities for community service.
