GGB Cincinnati – Halloween Event

GGB Cincinnati – Halloween Event

We love Halloween here at GGB Cincinnati, so we decided to do something a little different for our October event. Instead of a daytime brunch, we met up in the evening at Bonnybrook Farms for a haunted hayride.

8Bonnybrook Farms is a 370 acre working farm located in Clarksville, OH – not very far from Kings Island. They offer a variety of activities between May and October which you can read about on their website. Their Lantern Light Wagon Ride and Corn Maze operate every weekend in October between 7:30 and 10:30pm.

We met up inside the Farm Kitchen Cafe to hand out goodie bags to our members. Each bag contained Halloween-themed candy, glow sticks, pencils, erasers, shot glasses, and a pet ghost in a jar. Member Susan brought us some candy eyeballs. Not as squishy as you’d think.

The cafe features a shop where you can buy locally made treats as well as do some “fishing.” Antiques and harvest decor give the space a really cozy, seasonal feel while you enjoy some hot cider or pie.

9After purchasing our tickets for the hayride, we lined up to wait for the next wagon and tried to figure out which constellations were above us. Luckily, it didn’t take too long and we found a spot together on the wagon. Along with the other riders, we headed out into the dark, dark woods on the other side of the property. Each stop featured a costumed performer who told us a spooky story or local legend. There were a few jump scares, but overall it was pretty tame for the adults and older kids in the group. The rides take about forty minutes to complete, though it felt like it went by a lot faster than that.

Following the hayride, we all decided to warm back up with some hot cider from the cafe and sit around one of the bonfires outside. Though it was another small turnout, it was still a lot of fun.

Our next brunch will be in early December. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more information.
