GGB Philly launches with a Jurassic Brunch!

GGB Philly launches with a Jurassic Brunch!

Hi Brunchettes! On Saturday, June 20th, the Philadelphia chapter of Geek Girl Brunch launched with a Jurassic World-themed brunch at City Tap House U City.

The restaurant was excited to have us and accommodated our every need–including letting us in early to set up some decorations! We laid down some paper (we knew things might get messy) and some cute confetti, then gave our Brunchettes crayons to write their names — and draw some dinos.

We ended up being a party of 12, which included the four Philly officers.

They also surprised us at the end of the meal with complimentary BACON-FILLED BELGIAN WAFFLES WITH ICE CREAM ON TOP.

Yeah, you heard me… it was just as magically delicious as it sounded.

City Tap House U City was great to work with, and so were our swag bag sponsors!

Our swag came from Nerd Scouts, Shabby Chic Soap Co., Geek Freak Boutique, Jurassic Patches, yakitori, and Simply Sydney.

(The bags themselves were pretty awesome, too!)

Everyone had a fantastic time, and to top it all off with a big beautiful cherry, one of our brunchettes, Monica, wrote an article about us for top Philly geek blog Geekadelphia, which got us a *ton* of attention: our brunchette member list multiplied! Peep the article here.
