GGB Philly – February – Galentine’s Day!

“We have to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles and work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third.”

Leslie Knope

Geek Girl Brunch Philadelphia celebrated female friendships in February with a Galentine’s Day brunch! Using Leslie Knope as an inspiration for honoring our female friends, brunchettes spent time together at Love City Brewing crafting, eating, and drinking away the afternoon.

Love City is a new favorite of Geek Girl Brunch Philadelphia. Brunchettes have the opportunity to spread out at picnic tables and try dishes from the food truck of the day. The brewery also has rotating beers on tap as well as specialty cocktails. In February we had Flaming Basil, a truck that provides delicious Laos and Thai cuisine. The bar also has a small selection of traditional pub snacks to choose from.

GGB members created galentines and valentines using markers, stickers, punch outs, and lots of other fun craft supplies. Some were handed out among members in attendance while some Brunchettes took their crafts home to loved ones.

Brunchettes walked away with a fun Galentine’s Day tote, courtesy of the GGBPhilly officers, filled with small valentines trinkets including candy, Betty & Veronica postcards, pencil sharpeners, and friendship bracelets. We also raffled off items that celebrate lady friendships! Stemless wine glasses, Sailor Moon charms, Golden Girls pins, a Golden Girls game, and a beautiful necklace.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to celebrate awesome lady friendships! Our Captain Marvel – Brunch and a Movie brunch is coming up in March and we’re all very excited to see a powerful lady kicking butt during Women’s History Month!
